Verily, it is We Who have
sent down the the Quran and surely, We will guard it (from corruption).
(Al-Hijr 15:9)
Not like any other holy book or scriptures in other religion, The
Quran only has 1 version and 1 author (God/Allah). It’s in Arabic, and we still
have it until now and will still have it until the end of time.
An Arabic Quran, without any
crookedness (therein) in order that they may become Godfearing. (Az-Zumar
39:28)
And We have not revealed to
you the Book, [O Muhammad], except for you to make clear to them that wherein
they have differed and as guidance and mercy for a people who believe. (an-Nahl
16:64)
What is Quran?
What must we know about it?
What is our obligation to it?
This page contains selected verses from the Quran that described
itself. I hope at least it can give us some explanation about Quran, and I hope
can be a trigger to learn more.
Verses about the Quran
It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from
themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the
Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error. (Al-Jumu'ah 62:2)
And it was not [possible] for this Quran to be produced by other than
Allah, but [it is] a confirmation of what was before it and a detailed
explanation of the [former] Scripture, about which there is no doubt, from the
Lord of the worlds. (Yoonus 10:37)
Then do
they not reflect upon the Quran? If it had been from [any] other than Allah,
they would have found within it much contradiction. (An-Nisaa’ 4:82)
There has
come to you enlightenment from your Lord. So whoever will see does so for [the
benefit of] his soul, and whoever is blind [does harm] against it. And [say],
"I am not a guardian over you." (al-An'aam 6:104)
Say, [O
Muhammad], "It has been revealed by He who knows [every] secret within the
heavens and the earth. Indeed, He is ever Forgiving and Merciful."
(Al-Furqaan 25:6)
All the
praises and thanks is [due] to Allah, Who has sent down to His slave (Muhammad)
the Book (the Quran), and has not placed therein any crookedness. [He has made
it] Straight to give warning of a severe punishment from Him, and to give glad
tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they shall have a fair
reward. (Al-Kahf 18:1-2)
Say:
"If the mankind and the jinns were together to produce the like of this
Quran, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one
another." (Al-Israa' 17:88)
And We
have indeed made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any
that will remember (or receive admonition)? (Al-Qamar 54:17)
An Arabic
Quran, without any crookedness (therein) in order that they may become
Godfearing.
(Az-Zumar
39:28)
And We
have not revealed to you the Book, [O Muhammad], except for you to make clear
to them that wherein they have differed and as guidance and mercy for a people
who believe. (an-Nahl 16:64)
And
(remember) the Day when We shall raise up from every nation a witness against
them from amongst themselves. And We shall bring you (O Muhammad) as a witness
against these. And We have sent down to you the Book (the Quran) as an
exposition of everything, a guidance, a mercy, and glad tidings for those who
have submitted themselves (to Allah as Muslims). (An-Nahl:89)
Verily,
this Quran guides to that which is most just and right and gives glad tidings
to the believers who work deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a great
reward. (Al-Israa'17:9)
This
[Quran] is enlightenment for mankind and guidance and mercy for a people who
are certain [in faith]. (Al-Jaathiyah 45:20)
Verily, it
is We Who have sent down the the Quran and surely, We will guard it (from
corruption). (Al-Hijr 15:9)
Falsehood
cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; [it is] a revelation from
a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy. (Fussilat 41:42)
What is
Our Obligation
Quran is the one and only standard and source for the truth for those
who believe in Allah and the Hereafter. It is a guidance from God for mankind to achieve the ultimate success both in this worldly life and the afterlife. And we must believe it totally not
partially. We cannot pick and choose part from Quran that suitable to us only.
The Truth is
from thy Lord; so be not at all in doubt. (2:147 Al Baqarah )

O ye who believe! Enter into
Islam whole-heartedly; and follow not the footsteps of the evil one; for he is
to you an avowed enemy.
(2:208)

After this it is
ye, the same people, who slay among yourselves, and banish a party of you from
their homes; assist (Their enemies) against them, in guilt and rancor; and if
they come to you as captives, ye ransom them, though it was not lawful for you
to banish them. Then is it only a part
of the Book that ye believe in, and do ye rejects the rest? But what is the
reward for those among you who behave like this but disgrace in this life?- and
on the Day of Judgment they shall be consigned to the most grievous penalty.
For Allah is not unmindful of what ye do. (2:85)
________________________________________________
To thee We sent
the Scripture in truth, confirming the scripture that came before it, and
guarding it in safety: so judge between them by what Allah hath revealed, and
follow not their vain desires, diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee.
To each among you have we prescribed a law and an open way. If Allah had so
willed, He would have made you a single people, but (His plan is) to test you
in what He hath given you: so strive as in a race in all virtues. The goal of
you all is to Allah; it is He that will show you the truth of the matters in
which ye dispute;
(5:48Al Maidah)

And cover not
Truth with falsehood, nor conceal the Truth when ye know (what it is). (2:42)
________________________________________________
Say: "O
People of the Book! ye have no ground to stand upon unless ye stand fast by the
Law, the Gospel, and all the revelation that has come to you from your
Lord." It is the revelation that cometh to thee from thy Lord, that
increaseth in most of them their obstinate rebellion and blasphemy. But sorrow
thou not over (these) people without Faith. (5:68)
